ID Theft

Identity Theft

What's on your IPod?

Your blog assignment for the week is to create a podcast with both music and voice recording. I thought a fun topic might be to talk about the types of music you listen to. What type of music do you have on your IPod?

Now, when recording music we must follow copyright laws. How much of a song can you legally copy for school purposes?  Ten percent, that's right, (10%).  How does that equate:  a 3 minute song is 180 seconds long - so we can legally copy 18 seconds (or less) and still be within the legal limit of the copyright law.

Your assignment:  Create a podcast where you discuss the music you like and give us five sample songs.   Give us details of what you like about the music. What draws you to the music - is it the lyrics, music or something else?  How do you feel when listening to the music?  Are you energized or relaxed?  Another twist would be to discuss your favorite band/group/singer. You must have five sample songs.

Use Audacity for your recordings.  You may complete some of this at home and save to a Flash drive.  Your finished Podcast must be posted on your Blog no later than Sunday night, October 16, 2011.

Grade:  This assignment is worth 20 test points. You will be graded on the quality of your recordings - is your voice clear and interesting to listen to?  Can we understand what you are saying?  Does your topic match the assignment given?  Are you giving us details on what you like about the music?  Did you provide samples of at least five songs.  Did you follow copyright law?  Did you post your Podcast on your blog within the time frame allowed.  Enjoy!
